One of my recent projects was creating the cover illustration for Süddeutsche Zeitung, one of Germany’s most renowned newspapers. The illustration accompanied the Blattmacher journalism competition and was designed to visually express its spirit and key themes, using the official colors of both the event and the newspaper.
Süddeutsche Zeitung has a circulation of around 237,000 copies from Monday to Friday and approximately 322,000 on Saturdays. The artwork appeared in the Bavaria section of the Saturdayissue and was published digitally on November 15 of 2025.
SPILL THE TEA ++ GRAPHIC DeSIGN & ILLUSTRATION
One of my projects is “Spill the Tea,” a playful and memorable brand concept for loose-leaf tea in various flavors. The idea is to spark conversations, making the product a fun way for people to share stories and connect. My goal was to create a design that’s both eye-catching and leaves a lasting impression.
I’ve always enjoyed illustrating for friends and freelance projects, but I did so by hand. The possibilities in styles were limited and took a lot of time. So I started creating digital art and have become passionate about the app Procreate. This new medium opens up exciting possibilities for mixing materials in ways I couldn’t do in real life.
ILLUSTRATION ++ SYMMETRY
The idea of creating mirrored illustrations first came to me during a workshop in New York, where playful, spontaneous “squiggly” lines were transformed into figures. What began with a simple sketch of a lady holding a coffee cup gradually evolved into a series exploring balance, reflection, and interpretation. Both versions follow a theme.
The mirrored forms recall psychological mirror-drawing exercises and the Rorschach test, suggesting that each viewer might recognize something different within the symmetry: a glimpse of their own thoughts, emotions, or imagination. These works are as much about creative intuition as they are about perception and self-reflection.
ILLUSTRATION ++ PATTERN DESIGN For EMELOTI
Another personal project of mine is Emeloti, a passion project I started with my sister. I created the visual identity, designed and built the website, and hand-illustrated all patterns. The idea was to bring a personal, playful touch to home textiles, inspired by the many cities we’ve lived in and the stories they’ve left behind.
Together, we developed several fabric designs and produced test prints to explore colors, materials, and textures. We were thrilled with the results, but have currently paused further development due to production costs.
LoGO ++ GRAPHIC DESIGN
I developed a branding concept for “Pickles,” a product aimed at reinvigorating the love for pickles among younger audiences. Recognizing the decline in pickle consumption among youngsters, I created a playful design that highlights both the health benefits and the fun side of pickles.
The concept features a sporty pickle character in two distinct poses: one stretching with the slogan “It’s a long stretch, but have you tried our pickles?” and another sitting with the tagline “Better sit down for this.” These visuals are designed to be engaging and memorable.
